Certified Pharmaceutical Technician

The Certified Pharmaceutical Technician (CPT) in SPIN's Health Services Triage will play an important role in providing those we support with the safe delivery of prescribed medications. As part of this role, the CPT will coordinate the daily operations of managing, monitoring, and ordering medications. The CPT will also be responsible for facilitating deliveries of medications,/durable medical equipment, supplies, and maintain oversight of developed systems in these areas.

The Certified Pharmaceutical Technician (CPT) in SPIN’s Health Services Triage will play an important role in providing those we support with the safe delivery of prescribed medications.

As part of this role, the CPT will coordinate the daily operations of managing, monitoring, and ordering medications.  The CPT will also be responsible for facilitating deliveries of medications,/durable medical equipment, supplies, and maintain oversight of developed systems in these areas.  

 Responsibilities Include:  

Managing all medication and medical supply aspects of SPIN’s Triage office including:

  • Daily re-orders (per diam)
  • Weekly re-orders(agency wide reorder day)
  • Monthly Medication Cycle for 200 plus individuals
  • Monthly Medication Administration Record checks for 200 plus individuals
  • Daily medication changes
  • Ensuring medications are picked up timely as well as proper disposal of controlled substances
  • Durable Medical Equipment ordering
  • Monitoring inventory of DME’s
  • Communicating daily with Health Services team, Direct Support Professionals, and Managers in Adult Services, Pharmacy, Physician’s office and DME supplier via face to face interactions, phone, fax, and email. 
  • Maintains standards of confidentiality and ethical practice.

 Managing oversight of developed systems in regard to medications and Durable Medical Equipment including:

  • Maintaining records and filing
  • Managing prescriptions required for medications and Durable Medical Equipment supplies.
  • Managing surplus supplies for disbursement
  • Tracking for purposes of consistent service delivery and budgetary requirements 

Requirements include:

  • Certification as a Pharmaceutical Technician
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Pharmaceutical Technician
  • Strong knowledge base of medications,
  • Proficient in MS Office and/or other Windows based programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal/customer service, organizational and communication skills
  • Valid PA/NJ driver’s license, own vehicle and insurance.
  • Patience and flexibility is a must.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people in various settings.

 40 Hours per week with a flexible schedule.
