Behavioral and Developmental Services
SPIN's outpatient services, located at 10521 Drummond Road in Northeast Philadelphia, offer evaluation, diagnostics, treatment and training services for children and adolescents with developmental delays or disabilities and adults with co-occurring behavioral health and intellectual disabilities as well as clinical services for the general population experiencing behavioral health or life stress issues. Our vision is to improve chosen outcomes for individuals and their families/caregivers who seek information, counsel or support with the challenges in their life.
Current services we offer include:
Psychiatric Evaluations and Treatment for Children, Adolescents and Adults
Specialist Evaluations and Follow-up by a Board Certified Developmental Pediatrician
Psycho-educational Evaluation and Diagnostics
• Children at risk for or perceived to have a developmental delay, disability or behavioral health issue from birth through age eighteen, including Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Adults either known or perceived to have a cognitive disability
Counseling and Therapy
• Children (and their families) with or without developmental disabilities from birth through age eighteen who are either at risk for or identified with behavioral health issues
• Adults with or without a cognitive disability with an identified behavioral health issue and their families or caregivers
• Social Skills Groups - Groups for children, adolescents and adults with social skills issues to facilitate improved interpersonal relationships and enhanced participation in life
Integrated Behavioral Support for preschool aged children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in one of SPIN's preschool programs at SPIN Frankford or SPIN Northeast campus.
Clinical and Behavioral Supports, for adults in SPIN's residential program
• Intensive supports for adults residing in one of SPIN's Behavioral Health CLAs
Training and Consultation in Behavioral Support and Management
• Functional analysis of behavior and development of behavior plans and approaches for parents, caregivers, and/or early care and education staff
Primary Prevention Behavioral Health Services for Young Children Within Community Childcare Centers
• Funded through a Grant from the Pew Charitable Trusts (2007-2010)
• Staff and Parent training regarding how best to support healthy social-emotional development of young children within the home and community in order to prevent the development of or escalation of challenging behaviors
• One-on-one clinical services where needed to address more intensive levels of need, including referral to other services/supports

Payment for Services
SPIN accepts most insurance plans for Developmental Pediatric services; Behavioral Health services are also covered under some insurance plans. Testing for children residing in Philadelphia, ages 3 to 5, may be funded through Elwyn's SEEDS Program. Behavioral support for children with Autism is funded for eligible children through Philadelphia CBH. For individuals in Pennsylvania's P/FDS or Consolidated Waiver, some services may be funded if approved and authorized as part of an individual's Individual Support Plan.
