SPIN Donates Over 200 Coats to St. Vincent DePaul

This November SPIN Inc., in cooperation with Philadelphia Cares and St. Vincent DePaul participated in their 14th annual coat drive for those in need. A warm coat is a necessity that is often taken for granted. However, not by the many men, women and children who do not have one. Last year over 130 businesses, civic groups and individuals collected 6000 new and gently used coats that were distributed throughout the region. The coat drive began in November and as a result of the kindness and generosity throughout the agency, SPIN Inc. was able to donate over 200 coats in support of this initiative. Coats were collected over a 5 week period and delivered to St. Vincent DePaul throughout the months of November and December. Thanks to the generosity of those who donated, 200 more people this year will be kept warm during those cold winter months. This was a remarkable demonstration of generosity by our organization. Week after week boxes of coats were delivered to St. Vincent DePaul from SPIN, Inc. to where on my final day of delivery one attendant said to me “more coats?” The folks at St. Vincent De Paul were so grateful for our organization’s donations that they were gracious enough to take a picture commemorating our final drop off of over 200 coats.
